2013 Newspaper Reporting Contest winners

The Kentucky Rural Health Association recently announced the winners of its 2013 Newspaper Reporting Contest awards. The reporters who were recognized during KRHA’s 15th Annual Conference, held September 26-27 in Bowling Green, were:

  •  Daily, Best Story: Nick Tabor, The Kentucky New Era, for his article titled “Blood trail: A circuitous journey from donors to patients”;  
  • Non-daily, Best Series: Laura Ungar, The Courier-Journal, for her four-part series titled “Prescription for Tragedy”; and
  • Non-daily, Best Story: Amelia Holliday, The Hazard Herald, for her story “Health rankings reveal Perry as second unhealthiest county”.
